South Bend Museum of Art has an opening immediately for a ceramics studio kiln and glaze technician in downtown South Bend.

Preferred Qualifications:
BFA in ceramics and 2 years demonstrated technical experience firing electric and gas kilns. Experience mixing cone 10 glazes. Experience with basic kiln and wheel maintenance is ideal. The right candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to cooperate with varied demographics within a busy studio setting. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift 50 lbs, frequent standing, twisting, bending, and reaching. It involves exposure to heat, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Candidate must be able to work with continual interruptions, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Ideally, will also possess a willingness to enhance existing skills as they pertain to the position.

Position entails an average of 10-15 hrs per week, variable with studio work output and class schedules.

Compensation includes full studio access.
